Fair In Full Swing

The Meade County Fairgrounds became the center of attention of activity Monday as all of the exhibits and contests got underway. Monday was the first day of paid admission to the fair events and the midway. No crowd estimates were available at press time but the crowd increased further into the night.

Besides the excitement of the first night of the fair, several big events took place including the Miss Meade County Fair pageant, the Horse Pull and the English and Miniature Horse Show. Winners in the Horse Pull competition, in the Light Weight division was Yoder and Hatfield, while Humphrey and Heightchew took top rights in the Heavy Weight Division.

Also added attraction at this year’s fair is drawing for money from paid admission ticket stub that held the crowd in place through the evening. Aaron Quetot won the top prize money of $5,000 and Jose Maldonado won $3,000 in prize money.
