Derby Provides Spills
& Excitement

One of the biggest events at the Meade County Fair is the
Demolition Derby which occupies two nights for the bumping
and grinding of fenders and hoods. Thursday night was
deemed as the “Open to the World” class for the series
which allows anyone who had a car that met the regulations
of the event to compete. Several moments had the nearly
full arena crowd on the edge of their seat.
One of the moments was when during the Mini Car
competition one of the cars flipped over onto its roof.
The driver was not injured and the car was turned back
upright and started back up after cleaning some mud from
the exhaust pipes.
At the end of the night the top placements fell as:

All of the participants that placed received a trophy in
addition to and prize money that they won.
