An annual event at the
Meade County Fair provides a chance to know who eat
exactly how much food. The Watermelon Eating Contest
is a newer traditional event that provides some
entertainment before the demo derby on the Thursday
night. This year was no different from previous years. |
The contest has simple rules eat as
watermelon as you can, and clean the piece down to the
rein. There are two divisions which are Youth and Adult.
There were 13 youth contestants and 14 adult contestants
for this year’s contest. Cain Brothers took the top spot
for the youth and Ed Stull ate his way to the top in the
adult division.
Each received not only all the watermelon they could eat
for the contest but also got a trophy for their effort.
