Fair Sets All Time Record

If you attended this year’s Meade County Fair and had the thought “theirs seems like more people here,” your intuition was correct. The 2007 Meade County Fair shattered several records during the course of the week including the overall attendance of gate.

According to Fair Manager David Pace, the week’s total gate attendance was 41,879 which is a 388 increase from last year’s 41,491. The attendance records were broken Sunday through Wednesday consecutively.  The daily gate attendance numbers were:

Sunday            1,992*
Monday           4,346*
Tuesday          5,910*
Wednesday    5,860*
Thursday         7,357  
Friday              4,158
Saturday       12,256*
*Record crowd

The attendance on Thursday was the second largest crowd to come to the fair, the record for that day is 7,576 set in 2005. Pace said the fair continues to be a popular event not just for Meade County but across the region as well.
