Ekron Commissioners Meet

Mayor Gwen Ison called the regular monthly meeting of the Ekron City Commission to order Tuesday night. Commissioners reviewed mowing bids for the city of Ekron. A motion was made and carried to accept the bid from G & S Lawn Care Services.
Commissioner Pam Troutman confirmed the Spring Clean-up date. The Ekron Spring Clean-up day will be May 10, 2008 at 12:00 noon. Volunteers from the city and a Cub Scout group of about twenty will participate. A cookout for the volunteers will be held at the City Park following the clean-up.
An invitation from State Representative Jeff Greer was given to the Commissioners to attend a summit meeting on May 16th, at 10:00 am at the Meade County Courthouse. The summit is to be presented by Adam Edelen, director of the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security. Edelen will be providing information on available grants and services.
A motion was made and carried by the Commissioners to purchase two printers for the City of Ekron. A motion was also made and carried to purchase a $30,000.00 certificate of deposit. A motion was made and carried to close the alleyway in Ekron.
Before the meeting was adjourned Mayor Ison asked the Commissioners to work up a list of roads that need to be paved before winter.
