Plane Crash In Backyard
05/08/08 MRC/AP

Police and firefighters were called to the scene of a small plane crash in a Louisville neighborhood near Interstate 64.

Louisville Fire Chief Greg Frederick says the plane took off from a nearby airfield and landed upside down around 9:40 a.m. EDT Wednesday in the backyard of a house. He says no one on the ground was hurt and no houses were hit.

Frederick says the only person in the plane was the pilot, who was injured and taken to a hospital.

Frederick says the plane lost power after taking off. He says several homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution.
