County Replaces Car
07/23/2010 WGC
Meade County Fiscal Court held a special called meeting Thursday morning. The court heard and approved the second reading of an ordinance to amend the budget due to receiving state grant money for the Solid Waste and Recycling Center.
The court also revisited a request from their regular meeting last week to purchase a car for the Planning and Zoning Administrator. Tony Coletta presented five different cars that he had sought specs on from dealers within the county. The qualifying criteria for the cars listed were usability and warranty, plus serviceable within the county. The models years that were considered ranged from 2008 to 2010.
After a few minutes of discussion, the court voted to purchase a used 2010 Chevrolet Malibu at a price of $15,300 from Tony Brown Chevrolet. The price includes a $400 warranty plan to cover any need repairs in the future on the car. Coletta told Fiscal Court during their regular meeting, that the motor was blown in the current planning and Zoning vehicle and he had been using his personal vehicle to work from.
Magistrates also approved one claim before they concluded their special session.
