The 2010 Meade County Fair is now in the record books after eight days of events that began with a 5K Run and Walk and ending with the traditional highly anticipated truck and tractor pulls.
According to Meade County Fair Board Chairman David Pace,
fair officials are estimating attendance to be around 41,000 for the week.
He said that totals were still being tallied as of late Saturday night as the truck and tractor pull was winding down.
The estimate is close to the 2009 attendance figures. |
Pace said the attendance numbers should be close on either side of the 41,000 mark. Organizers had a busy week which dealt with storms and a brief power outage on Monday night and very hot and humid weather conditions the remaining nights of the fair.
Police reported about ten arrests during the week and one theft during the week. Organizers and police are well satisfied that most events went off as planned with few interruptions.
