Commissioners Organize For Spring

The Ekron City Commission met during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday night. Commissioners worked on organizing a community clean-up work day. The city typically holds a cleanup day in May. This year the work day is scheduled for April 24. City leaders will be looking for scout troops that are in Ekron to volunteer their help for the day and they will be rewarded with a cook out provided by the city.
Commissioner Cory Trent reported that he had found a camera system that would be installed by next month which will be under the allowed cost which commissioners had budgeted. The camera system will be installed near the city park to help monitor vandalism to the city’s property and possible identify the persons responsible.
Mayor Gwenn Ison said that Secretary Sandy Adams is working on a website for the city. The site is still under construction, but Mayor Ison said she hopes that residents will share their stories and their details of history of the city which was established in 1906.
