Nursing Home Worker Pleads Guilty
03/04/10 WGC/AP
A former aide at a western Kentucky nursing home has pleaded guilty to taking cell phone video of a nude patient.
Phyllis Johnson, 20 entered her plea Tuesday in Hopkins County Circuit Court. Johnson was fired from the Dawson Pointe nursing home in Dawson Springs after her April 19 arrest for two videos which showed a nude elderly woman sitting in a shower.
She was originally charged with the felony crime of video voyeurism. Hopkins County Commonwealth's Attorney David Massamore said Johnson pleaded to the less serious charge of voyeurism.
Johnson is scheduled for sentencing May 17 with the recommendation of a 12-month sentence with 30 days of it served in jail.
