Jurors Recommend Life In Prison
03/06/10 MRC/AP

Jurors have recommended a sentence of life in prison for a southcentral Kentucky man found guilty of kidnapping and murder in the death of his girlfriend four years ago.

A Warren County jury made the recommendation Thursday that 50-year-old Lawrence Stinnett spend the rest of his life behind bars. Warren Circuit Judge John Grise will formally sentence Stinnett at a later date.

Stinnett was convicted of both counts last week, and could have faced the death penalty.

Christina Renshaw was found dead February 3, 2006, by Bowling Green police, who went to her apartment to investigate a domestic violence call.

Stinnett acted as lead counsel in his own defense during the trial after having conflicts with his attorneys.
