Officers Go To Trial
03/07/10 MRC/AP

A judge in Richmond has set a trial date for three Richmond city police officers accused of witness tampering.

Sgt. James Rogers and Officers Garry Murphy and Brian Hensley face trial beginning March 22nd. Madison County Circuit Judge William Clouse set the date during a motions hearing on Thursday.

Clouse denied a motion to expand a "no contact" order, saying defense and prosecution attorneys are free to contact the female witness, but she doesn't have to speak to them.

Rogers was indicted on one count of intimidating or tampering with a witness. Murphy and Hensley each face one count of complicity to commit the intimidation of or tampering with a witness stemming from an October incident.
