Muldraugh Conducts Business

During the regular meeting of the Muldraugh City Council Monday evening, Police Chief John Stinebruner advised the council two new officers have been hired. Keith Hillman, who is already certified, has returned to the force as a full time officer. Jonathan Curl has also been hired and will be going in April for training to get his certification.
Fire Chief Daniel Dresel reported that everything is running smoothly at this time but reminded the council of the new radios and pagers that will have to be purchased in order to be able to operate on the narrow band when it take effect in a couple of years. He estimated the department would have to purchase about 20 new units with the minimum cost being around $30,000. Chief Dresel told the council the department will be holding several fund raisers to try to help offset the expense. The first one will be a fish dinner on Friday, March 26th, at 5 p.m.
Public Works Supervisor Anthony Lee gave the council a packet containing a subdivision regulation along with statements of intent to bring six waste water violations in compliance with the mandated SMS4 storm water program. Supervisor Lee advised the council that everything would be in order to be taken to Frankfort for approval once the Ordinance No. 295 for the post-construction storm water management was passed by the council. The council heard the first reading during the Monday evening meeting and will have the second reading in a special called meeting Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
John Gricius of Richardson, Pennington & Skinner gave the council an overview of the 2008-2009 fiscal year audit stating there were no problems found. The audit was accepted as printed.
The council adopted a wrecker service agreement drawn up by a committee consisting of Councilmen Joseph Noon, Curtis Kelly and Ralph Lee. This agreement states that operators who wish to participate will be placed on a sequential rotating list to be administered by Meade County Dispatch. This would be open to any Meade County owned and operated wrecker service that would be willing to meet all the other requirements listed in the agreement.
The council adopted Resolution No. 2010-01, which is the Lincoln Trail Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update. This plan must be in place in order to qualify for United States Federal Emergency Management Agency funds in case of a disaster.
