Silo Knocks Down Utility Lines

A moving silo knocked down utility lines near Flaherty Monday afternoon. According to the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened just after 2:30 Monday afternoon on Saint Martin Road about three miles from Flaherty.
A 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck, operated by 30 year-old Russell Foote of Irvington was traveling north when he misjudged the height of the silo that he was towing struck a telephone line knocking down. Foote said that he had measured the silo at thirteen feet and six inches before he left with it.
Foote along with his passenger 27 year-old Nicholas Spears of Irvington were not injured. The roadway was closed about a hour to make the necessary repairs and clear the mishap.
