02/02/12 WGC
A single vehicle accident claimed the life of a 21 month old infant Wednesday morning. Kentucky State Police responded to the scene of an accident along Battle Training Road near Radcliff, around 9:30 am.
Police say that 1994 Toyota pickup truck driven by 29 year-old Amy French of Elizabethtown was traveling west on Kentucky 434 when for an unknown reason the vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the road. French overcorrected and lost control causing the truck crossed the eastbound lanes and struck a tree in the rear driver’s side.
French’s infant daughter, 21 month old Taylor French was restrained in a car seat but received critical injuries from a part of tree that fell on the vehicle. Taylor was taken to the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown where she was pronounced dead.
Amy French was unrestrained and suffered minor injuries and also taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
