One Vehicle Accident Near Summit

Two people were taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital after a one vehicle accident in western Hardin County near Summit.
A 1992 Oldsmobile passenger car was traveling north on Rock Creek Road when the vehicle, driven by 53 year-old Ricky D. Wilson of Leitchfield, dropped of the right shoulder of the road. Wilson overcorrected and traveled across the roadway before entering a ditch and striking a metal fence line.
Both the driver and a passenger, 41 year-old Elizabeth A. Woodrum of BigClifty, were treated at the scene by Hardin County EMS and transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital. The passenger was later transported by Hardin County EMS to University of Louisville for treatment of her injuries.
The driver, Ricky D.Wilson was charged with DUI 2nd, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Failure of Non-owner to Maintain Required Insurance, No or Expired Kentucky Registration Receipt, No or Expired Registration Plate and Failure to Wear Seatbelt. He was later lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center after being treated at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
