The Kentucky State Police have released the name of the suspect and the officer involved in a fatal shooting in Grayson County Wednesday afternoon.
Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins and Grayson County Sheriff Officer Major Corey Knochel responded to a report of a domestic disturbance after a shot was fired at a residence located at 4099 Saint Paul Road in northeast Grayson County. When they arrived they were met in the driveway by 66 year-old Chris E. Higdon advancing toward them with a firearm.
After not complying with orders to drop the gun, Sheriff Chaffins fired his weapon three times striking the suspect. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner.
The incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
