A Grayson County man shot himself to death as Deputies attempted to serve him with a warrant.
Around 7 pm CDT Thursday (8/10) Grayson County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to serve the warrant in the 6900 block of Salt River Road near the community of Tar Hill. The man who had been indicted in July by the Grayson County Grand Jury for theft by failure to make required disposition, and being a persistent felony offender. The indictment accuses the man of taking $3,655 from a homeowner to replace her roof and do other repairs when he intentionally failed to make the required disposition of said property.
It’s unclear at this point if the warrant being served on Thursday night was related to that indictment, or was the result of a separate incident.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner.
