Two women are in jail after the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office received a tip of an alleged drug deal in Beaver Dam.
Officials responded to the 600 block of the Western Kentucky Parkway and the deal involved the sale of crystal meth.
Authorities watched the drug transaction and then arrested 31 year-old Janice Gonzalez of Elizabethtown and 27 year-old Amanda Joyce of Clarkson.
Police seized 43 grams of crystal meth and one and a half gram of heroin, they also seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both women were charged with 1 count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine), 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (methamphetamine), 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (heroin), 1 count of Possession of Marijuana, and 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Gonzalez was also charged with 1 count of Tampering with Physical Evidence and 1 count of Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs. Officers also served an arrest warrant on Joyce for Failure to Appear.
Both women are being held in the Ohio County Detention in lieu of a $15,000 bond each.
