A Hodgenville teen has died from injuries suffered just after 4 p.m. EDT Friday afternoon in a two-car crash in Grayson County.
According to a news release from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, a car driven by 18 year-old Joseph Pennington was heading east on the Western Kentucky Parkway when, for unknown reasons, it crossed the median and struck a Ford F-150 truck driven by 64 year-old Milton Cummings of Louisville, around the 106.5-mile marker
According to the report, Cummings tried to swerve to avoid the crash but couldn’t. Pennington, who was wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
Pennington’s vehicle came to rest about 150 feet from the area of impact.
Cummings received serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Both men were taken to University Hospital in Louisville. Pennington succumbed to his injuries Saturday.
Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins was assisted at the scene by other deputies, the Leitchfield Fire Department, Grayson County EMS and the state road department.
