An Elizabethtown man, wearing all-black clothing and sitting in a vehicle in front of a Vine Grove home under construction, was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with first-degree burglary.
Michael Jackson, 40, faces multiple charges related to the arrest.
Vine Grove police found items inside Jackson’s 2001 Volkswagen sedan, including a granite counter top, sump pump and a large amount of tools, according to the arrest citation.
Jackson told authorities he was waiting on someone who was in the house.
Vine Grove police believe many of the items found were from multiple burglaries in Vineland Park subdivision. Also in the vehicle were purses and jewelry.
Jackson is charged with first-degree burglary, a Class B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison, if convicted, as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property less than $500 and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
Jackson, who was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center, will appear Friday in Hardin District Court to be arraigned on the charges and have bond set.
