A single vehicle accident in Meade County sent one person to the hospital and caused an estimated 700 customers of Meade County RECC to be in the dark a couple of hours.
According to the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, the happened around 3:30 pm Monday (11/12) afternoon on Highway 79 and Owen Loop near the Breckinridge-Meade County Line. A vehicle ran off of the roadway and struck a utility pole. the driver was taken to University of Louisville Hospital by Meade County EMS.
The Meade County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Ekron and Irvington Fire Departments and Meade County RECC. No other details have been made available in the accident.
