Timothy Madden, the man accused of kidnapping, raping and killing 7-year-old Gabbi Doolin in 2015, appeared in Allen Circuit Court Friday.
Friday’s court appearance yielded several deadlines for motions. The deadline to file further motions in the case will be March 15, with other deadlines for replies and responses in April.
The case has been delayed several times, but Judge Janet Crocker said “barring extraordinary circumstances,” the case will not be continued again.
Madden’s public defender, Tom Griffiths, tells reporters he has never been involved in a case this complex, having only taken over halfway through last year, and it will be difficult to be prepared for that set September trial.
Timothy Madden will be back in court May 3, with trial still scheduled for September. Madden faces the death penalty if convicted.
