Crews from various agencies were called in the wake of several accidents outside of the wintry precipitation over the past weekend in Meade County.
The first accident happened Friday (2/8) in the 4100 block of Old Mill Road after a vehicle came upon a icy patch and struck a earth embankment. One person was taken to University of Louisville Hospital by Meade County EMS for their injuries.
A second accident happened around 1 pm Friday (2/8) at the intersection of Kentucky 313 and Buck Grove Road when two vehicles collided. One person was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown by Meade County EMS for their injuries. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department was also assisted a the scene by the Ekron Fire Department.
On Sunday (2/10) emergency crews from Meade and Hardin Counties were called the northbound lanes of 31W and Park Ridge Drive after an accident. One person was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Meade County EMS.
Emergency responders were called to numerous slide offs and accidents during the wintry weather early Sunday.
Local law enforcement encourages motorists to slow down and be alert to traffic conditions around them at all times.
