Jurors deliberated nearly six hours Thursday, finding a Radcliff grandfather guilty on three of four felony charges against him in a seven-month sexual assault of his then 11-year-old granddaughter in 2017.
Robert Pat Jamieson, 63, was found guilty of Class A felonies of first-degree sodomy and incest, and a Class C felony charge of first-degree sexual abuse. The jury of eight men and four women found Jamieson not guilty of first-degree rape, a Class A felony, and third-degree terroristic threatening, a misdemeanor.
The jury recommended Jamieson serve 20 years each on the sodomy and incest convictions and five years for sexual abuse — the minimum sentences allowed by law. The sentences will run concurrently. He could have received up to 50 years, or life in prison, following the convictions for sodomy and incest and up to 10 years for sexual abuse.
He must serve about 15½ more years in prison before he is parole eligible. Formal sentencing is September 17.
