Local emergency service agencies gathered on Wednesday (9/11) to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Across the area several ceremonies marked the 18th anniversary never forgetting the bravery and spirit of those who perished that fate day in our country’s history. Ceremonies were held in Louisville, Fort Knox and around the country to honor those patriots.
Meade County Emergency services will hold a ceremony this Wednesday evening at the Ekron Fire Department. The evening will begin with a parade beginning at 5:30 pm at the Meade County Courthouse and will lead along Broadway to Old State Road onto Hayesville Road and then arriving at the Ekron Elementary School. The ceremony will be held at the Ekron Fire Station 1 just behind the school. The community is invited to attend by lining the parade route or attending the ceremony.
WVIH.com will provide a live stream of the ceremony in our “On Demand” section.
