Meade County High School graduating seniors are about to take the final lap of their school year like no other class.
On Friday, May 22 Seniors will participate in a Commencement Cruise to celebrate their achievement and cross the graduation line publicly, but in their vehicles. School officials stress it is important that all participants and observers follow the guidelines that have been set to ensure safety. Please see the below spectator map for details on where and where not to view the Cruise.
Viewing opportunities are available along Broadway and the By-Pass. Please do not park on the road or shoulder. Please utilize parking lots and other paved surfaces along this route. Social distancing should be practiced at all times.
Old State Road will be off-limits to spectators due to limited areas to watch and the need to keep the road clear for our arriving and departing graduates. Again, please help us with keeping Old State Road off-limits to spectators.
This is a spectator’s guide. Please keep in mind the Cruise will also make a loop through the BPS/DTW campus where MCHS teachers will be located for a private celebration with their students! Public parking will not be allowed in this area in order to allow this celebratory moment for students and their teachers.
WVIH.com will be live-streaming portions of the Commencement Cruise and the graduation ceremony for those who cannot view along the published route. During the Commencement Cruise tune your radios to WMMG 93.5 to listen to the traditional MCHS Graduation Ceremony, speeches, and reading of graduate’s names. Brandenburg Telephone Company customers can tune their television to Channel 191 and the Meade County School District Facebook page at 7 pm to view the pre-recorded traditional graduation ceremony.
