An Elizabethtown man was arrested late Wednesday night and charged in a reported assault on a woman earlier in the month.
Benjamin Andrew Tucker, 30, is being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center.
He was arrested by Elizabethtown police on a warrant and charged with first-degree strangulation – a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted; fourth-degree assault, domestic violence with minor injury and third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespassing from a reported Sept. 3 altercation.
According to a arrest citation, Tucker pulled a woman’s hair and put her in a head lock and punched her five times in the face with a closed fist, causing “visible” bruising and swelling.
He also reportedly placed a hand around the woman’s throat and caused her to hyperventilate, according to the arrest report.
Tucker is scheduled to appear October 1 in Hardin District Court.
