A Grayson County man accused of leading police on a county-wide manhunt after murdering one woman and injuring two other people with a samurai sword in February appeared for his first pretrial conference Tuesday morning.
George Greer, 49, allegedly attacked and killed 59 year-old Teresa Boles in her home in Falls of Rough, injuring 60 year-old Joseph Boles and 32 year-old Lauren Tabor in the process. According to Greer’s confession, after the attack, he fled the scene in a stolen minivan.
He later discarded that vehicle and stole another vehicle before it became stuck in the mud of a nearby field.
He was apprehended in a nearby wooded area by police. Despite his confession, Greer pleaded not guilty.
During his pretrial conference, Greer’s attorney shared that prosecutors have uncovered an exceptional amount of discovery and were granted a new pretrial date of July 23.
