A Jefferson County Grand Jury has indicted a man on charges related to a deadly September shooting.
Dontez Deshawn Edwards, 36, of Louisville, was indicted on one count each of murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and unlawful transaction with a minor.
The shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. on September 28, 2025, in the 2100 block of West Market Street in the Russell neighborhood. The victim, an adult man, died before he could receive medical help.
Edwards was already in custody at Louisville Metro Corrections on charges unrelated to the Market Street homicide.
Louisville Metro Police had previously charged a 15-year-old in the case. The youth is charged with murder and possession of a gun by a minor.
