Kentucky State Police Post 2 officials say they are currently investigating a deadly multi-vehicle collision that took place Friday.
First responders were dispatched to the area of US-431 near the 15-mile-marker around 11:15 a.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling north on U.S. 431, while a semi-truck was traveling southbound.
A third vehicle, driven by 68-year-old Morrine Cox, reportedly failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. 431 and Cleaton Road.
Officials say Cox’s vehicle entered the path of both the northbound and southbound vehicles, causing a collision.
Cox and passenger, 64-year-old Virginia Grimes, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner.
The drivers of the vehicle and semi were transported to the hospital for their injuries.
