Detectives say 41 year-old Steven Russellburg Sr. was shot and killed by his son, 18 year-old Steven Russelburg Jr. just after midnight Monday (11\/14) at a home on Hall School Road in the St. Joseph area.<\/p>\n
When deputies arrived at the scene they found Russellburg Sr. had been shot in the chest. Emergency crews performed CPR on him but were unable to save him.<\/p>\n
Deputies say Russellburg Jr. was in his room sleeping when he was woken up by an argument that his father and two other people in the home. Russellburg Jr. grabbed a rifle and tried to break up the altercation by firing a shot into the ceiling, but the fight continued. Russellburg Jr fired another shot and hit his father in the chest. Russellburg Jr. told detectives he meant to shoot his father somewhere lower, but he shot from the hip.<\/p>\n
