An eastern Kentucky judge accused of a long list of belligerent behavior has been suspended without pay for about a half year.<\/p>\n
The state’s Judicial Conduct Commission said Friday the 180-day suspension stems from an agreement with Pike County Circuit Judge Steven D. Combs and his attorneys.<\/p>\n
The commission says the agreement was reached prior to a final hearing in the matter.<\/p>\n
Combs was accused of name-calling and unethically presiding over cases as part of a series of accusations. The commission says the suspension continues until March 29. Combs had been under temporary suspension since mid-June pending the outcome of the case.<\/p>\n
One of his attorneys, Steve Ryan, says the punishment will change Combs’ conduct. He says Combs intends to resume his judicial duties once the suspension is completed.<\/p>\n
