The Kentucky State Police received a call from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office just before 8 a.m. Saturday morning, requesting their assistance with a death investigation in the 1000 block of Ed Brent Lane in Bardstown. <\/p>\n
Police say the victim was heading into the woods to go hunting when he was shot.<\/p>\n
The family of Crystal Rogers, the mother of five who disappeared in July of 2015, say the victim was Rogers’ father, Tommy Ballard. Ballard, 54, was heading out to go hunting with his grandson when he was shot, according to the family.<\/p>\n
The Kentucky State Police, Nelson County Sheriff’s office and the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife continue to investigate.
