Mayor Joseph Noon said that the insurance has provided their settlement which was a total of $19,416. He said that $13,000 of the amount would pay off the loan on that vehicle and then the remaining $6,000 would be used as a down payment on a replacement vehicle. Police Chief Dale Harp is still awaiting bids to be submitted from area dealers to be evaluated.<\/p>\n<p>The council voted approved allowing the police department&#8217;s pickup truck to be used by the city Code Enforcement officer and the current Code Enforcement Jeep be used by the City Fire Chief.<\/p>\n<p>Councilman Russell Cowins made a motion to pay a $1 per hour salary increase for Police Chief Harp because of his outstanding work to run the department after a patrolman resigned his position, leaving only Harp to police the town. The council members present unanimously approved the motion.
