City and county leaders will work on the site development plans around the monument over the next few months before the expected dedication ceremony in the spring. Mayor Joyner thanked Bim&#8217;s Ready Mix for the discounted price on the seventy nine yards of concrete for the monument&#8217;s foundation.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of the meeting, the council heard a presentation from Daniel Hall, Campaign Manager of Knox Regional Alliance, who asked city leaders to donate $3,000 a years for five years to a newly forming committee who is a collaborative effort of the CORE Committee at Fort Knox and the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce. The group is expecting to be a marketing and catalyst for development on and around Fort Knox to bolster the viability and economic development of the military installation and neighboring communities. Hall said that the money donated would be used for staffing and some travel to lobby for Fort Knox. After some discussion, the council voted 4 to 1 in favor of the request.<\/p>\n<p>in other business, the council approved the lowest bid of $8,000 made by Brown &#038; Company CPA as the vendor to conduct the city&#8217;s audit for the current fiscal year. Mayor Joyner informed the council that Precision Concrete would begin work on side walk leveling repairs across the city on December 27. The council tabled discussion on a proposed 250 feet section of new side walk in front of the Meade County High School along Old State Road.
