\nThe criminal case against former LaRue County High School principal 36 year-old Kyle Goodlett moved forward Thursday afternoon when he was indicted by a Hardin County grand jury on 63 counts of child pornography.<\/p>\n
Goodlett was indicted on 60 counts of possession or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and three counts of first offense distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He is said to have distributed three videos August 26.<\/p>\n
He was charged with all the charges on October 13 when he was arrested at his Elizabethtown home.<\/p>\n
The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch has been seeking information from students of LaRue County and Elizabethtown high schools who might have had cellphones confiscated since 2010 while Goodlett was employed at the schools.<\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police said several responses have been received by email and phone and from parents and students of the schools. No new charges have been filed in the case.<\/p>\n
Police said the ongoing investigation into Goodlett would be lengthy and that additional charges were possible.<\/p>\n
The investigation into Goodlett was triggered by a complaint filed with the Elizabethtown Police Department regarding the possibility of him sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.<\/p>\n
Initially suspended by LaRue County Public Schools, Goodlett was terminated October 18.<\/p>\n
Goodlett was released October 14 from Hardin County Detention Center on a $7,500 cash bond. As part of his bond stipulations, Goodlett, a father of three, is only to have contact with his own children if someone from Child Protective Services is present. He also is to have no contact with anyone younger than 18.<\/p>\n
All charges against Goodlett are Class D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison, if convicted, on each count.
