Suzanne Dennis taught first grade at Lakewood Elementary School in Stephensburg, according to Hardin County Schools spokesman John Wright.<\/p>\n
The crash happened on US 62 between Stephensburg and White Mills, according to a witnesss. <\/p>\n
Wright said parents were notified about Dennis’ death via a One Call notification Monday and were asked to report to the school at 3 p.m. so they would be present when the principal told Dennis’ class about their teacher’s death.<\/p>\n
Wright said parents were encouraged to talk with their children about what happened. He said counselors will be available throughout the week to help students, family and staff grieve the loss of Dennis.<\/p>\n
Dennis had taught for Hardin County Schools since 1993 and was in her 37th year of teaching.
