The Food Safety Inspection Service announced the recall Thursday. The chicken was produced between December 19, 2016, and March 7, 2017.<\/p>\n
The food was shipped to retail location nationwide and include brands such as Spring River Farms, Sav A Lot, Great Value, Double D Foods, TenderBird, Chickentopia and Smart Foods4Schools.<\/p>\n
The company received five complaints from consumers that metal objects were found in ready-to-eat chicken products. The contamination was caused due to a faulty metal conveyor belt.<\/p>\n
According to the Food Safety Inspection Service website, there have not been any reports of adverse effects from people consuming the chicken.<\/p>\n
Anyone who has purchased the recalled products should either discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
