\nThe city of West Point in Hardin County is offering a $500 reward in order to track down the person responsible for vandalizing crosses along Dixie Highway.<\/p>\n
\nThe city of West Point in Hardin County is offering a $500 reward in order to track down the person responsible for vandalizing crosses along Dixie Highway.<\/p>\n
One of those crosses represents the memory of Officer Donald Williams who was killed by a drunk driver in a head-on collision more than 30 years ago.<\/p>\n
He was the first town officer in West Point to lose his life while on duty for over a century.<\/p>\n
Ever since then the locals have made his memorial a spot to remember loved ones who lost their lives on the highway.<\/p>\n
The highway memorial sustained a lot of damage and a plaque and other decorations were left in pieces.<\/p>\n
A second roadside memorial placed at the spot where a woman lost her life in 2010 was completely pulled out and thrown into the nearby wooded area.
