\nFormer Governor Julian Carroll says he won’t resign his state Senate seat following a media report that a man alleged Carroll groped and propositioned him in 2005.<\/p>\n

Carroll spoke to reporters as he left the Capitol Annex cafeteria Wednesday and declined to answer questions about the allegation. He has denied the accusation.<\/p>\n

The 86-year-old Frankfort lawmaker said, “Absolutely no resignation, no resignation.” Carroll said he’s “doing just fine.”<\/p>\n

The alleged incident happened at the then-30-year-old man’s home. The man played a taped conversation of the meeting for state police. No charges were filed.<\/p>\n

Kentucky’s Senate Democratic Caucus on Sunday asked Carroll to resign immediately and removed him as minority whip.<\/p>\n

Carroll was Kentucky’s governor from 1974 to 1979.<\/p>\n

Senate Democratic leader Ray Jones of Pikeville said the decision is Carroll’s to make.
