Chester Coogle, 29, is accused of driving a vehicle at Hardin County Sheriff Deputy Sgt. Taylor Miller who was on foot after initiating a traffic stop on March 21 causing Miller to jump out of the way to avoid being struck. Coogle then fled from the cemetery where Miller had attempted to approach Coogle. Miller then followed him to a farm, and with Miller out of his vehicle, when Coogle drove at him.<\/p>\n
Coogle was arrested April 16 and has been held in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center since his arrest. Coogle was indicted in March by a Hardin County grand jury on four felony charges, including criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree fleeing and evading in a motor vehicle and first-degree possession of a controlled substance \u2014 methamphetamine. He also was indicted on being a second-degree persistent felony offender and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities reportedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Coogle\u2019s abandoned vehicle.<\/p>\n
When Coogle was arrested in April, another arrest warrant also was served on him for misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking or disposition of contents from a vehicle valued at less than $500 and first-degree forgery for an incident in mid-January.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
