It was supremely successful then in terms of attendance and pairmutuel wagering.<\/p>\n<p>Lexington&#8217;s Keeneland is hosting this year&#8217;s event, which will take place next weekend. After that, the Cup heads to California for the next two years. Santa Anita Park will host the event November 4-5 in 2016 before the Cup goes to Del Mar November 3-4 in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>John Asher, Churchill&#8217;s vice president of communications, said work on the application is being done right now for 2018, which is the next available open date.<\/p>\n<p>Churchill has hosted the Breeders&#8217; Cup eight times, which currently ties it with Santa Anita for the most.<br \/>\nSource: WAVE  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Churchill Downs wants the Breeders&#8217; Cup back under the Twin Spires.
