\nBreckinridge County School officials held the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Irvington Elementary School into the school\u2019s gymnasium Sunday (10\/15) afternoon due to weather.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been two years since ground was broken for the new site across Highway 60 from the old school, and students had to wait until after the fall break to move in, but the results have surpassed Principal Jon Miller\u2019s expectations.
\nMiller and other speakers thanked students, teachers, parents and the community for their support.<\/p>\n

The Irvington Elementary School project was the first new construction project in twenty years in the school district. The school district has a second replacement school under construction in Hardinsburg to replace the aging Hardinsburg Elementary school, which is expected to open by the 2018-19 school year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
