According to Elizabethtown Police the pursuit began around 2:48 am Wednesday at the intersection of New Glendale Road and the US 31W Bypass in Elizabethtown went through Rineyville and ended back Elizabethtown after police saw 2017 Ford F-150 truck hauling a stolen trailer and John Deere zero turn mower. The pursuit went through the rural area near Rineyville before ending along the Patriot Parkway in Elizabethtown.<\/p>\n
The driver of the truck, 65 year-old Morris Cooper was apprehended after a short foot pursuit near the Magnolia Farms subdivision. Police found a crack pipe in the truck and bolt cutters were found under the passenger seat of the vehicle. Police later learned that the trailer was stolen from a local metal business.<\/p>\n
Cooper was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle; first-degree fleeing or evading police on foot; first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants; two counts of receiving stolen property less than $10,000; first offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance \u2014 cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of burglary tools and reckless driving.<\/p>\n
A passenger in the truck, 36 year-old Antoine Clemmons was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property less than $10,000; first offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance \u2014 cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools.<\/p>\n
