\nTwo Louisville residents were arrested Wednesday (10\/28) night on counterfeit money and drug charges.<\/p>\n

William Ashby, 36, and Jennifer Raley, 36, were arrested by the Elizabethtown Police Department and the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Drug Task Force after being stopped for a traffic violation.<\/p>\n

Police found methamphetamine and heroin in the vehicle and Raley also was in possession of two $100 bills. According to the citation, she told authorities she knew the money was counterfeit.<\/p>\n

According to Ashby\u2019s arrest citation, he used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase a pair of Nike shoes and a knit cap at Hibbett Sports in Elizabethtown. After being read his Miranda Rights, Ashby told police the money was counterfeit and that he had bought the $100 for $50.<\/p>\n

According to Raley\u2019s citation, she admitted to officers that she had used heroin earlier in the day and she had visible needle wounds on both arms.<\/p>\n

Both face a Class C felony charge of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison, if convicted. Raley faces two counts on the charge.<\/p>\n

They also are charged with first-degree, first offense possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony punishable by no more than three years in prison, if convicted. They both also face possession of drug paraphernalia charges, Class A misdemeanors with a maximum penalty of one year in prison, if convicted.<\/p>\n

They both are scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. November 6 in Hardin District Court. They are each being held in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of $7,500 cash bond.
