\nTwo men are still on the run after shooting a store clerk during an attempted robbery at the 7th Street Food Mart in the 2500 block of 7th Street Road around 9:40 Friday morning.<\/p>\n

The store clerk is in critical condition, according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell. He was rushed into surgery at University of Louisville Hospital.<\/p>\n

The victim was identified by his uncle as David Bryant, a father of four in his early 40’s.<\/p>\n

According to the store owner, Bassam Ali, his brother and Bryant were working at the time. His brother was running the store behind a bullet proof window, but Bryant was outside of the glass. He noticed two men walk in, one of them was wearing a mask. Bryant walked up to the two men when one of them shot him. The thieves fled, but did not get any money.<\/p>\n

There is surveillance video from inside the store, but police have not released a description of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous police tip line at (502) 574-LMPD.
