\nA house fire claimed the life of a Meade County woman early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police was called to a residential structure fire about 4:30 Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n
Preliminary investigation revealed the residence was occupied by Eugene and Rebecca Parks. Rebecca Parks, age 66, was unable to exit the residence and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner\u2019s Office. Her husband, 67 year-old Eugene Parks, managed to escape with only minor injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no foul play is suspected. <\/p>\n
An autopsy will be conducted on Rebecca Parks by the Kentucky Medical Examiners Officers in Louisville.<\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Deputy Chris Crawford, with the Kentucky State Fire Marshal Office, Muldraugh Fire Department, Meade County Fire District, Flaherty Fire Department, and the Meade County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
