Kentucky State Police Trooper Charles Loudermilk said the situation began 3 am Fiday (11\/30) when Frankfort Police attempted to make a traffic stop and the driver fled. State police joined the pursuit, which ended on U.S. 127 near Interstate 64.<\/p>\n
Sheriff Pat Melton said an officer shot the suspect, who was taken to the hospital. Police said the man is undergoing surgery. A trooper also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. Neither the suspect nor the trooper was identified.<\/p>\n
