\nOn Friday thousands of shoppers will flock to the Shelbyville Road corridor for some of the Black Friday deals in Louisville.<\/p>\n

St. Matthews Police said they will be adding extra security at Mall St. Matthews, Oxmoor Center and other shopping centers in the area.<\/p>\n

Police advise shoppers to be vigilante as they walk through stores and parking lots. Texting, digging around your purse or pockets, or walking alone can make you a target for a thief. <\/p>\n

Shoppers are urged to be aware of their surroundings, walk with a purpose and don\u2019t linger. Have keys ready to unlock your vehicle as you approach your car.<\/p>\n

Police will be adding extra patrols at both malls to be on the lookout for shoplifters but if you see an officer, you can request they walk you to your car or contact them about your security concerns. Police also recommend shoppers not to leave anything visible in their car and to put all of their purchases in their trunk.
